1345 Immigration contact center already made a reply to 2 million calls for 1 year.

1345 Immigration contact center opened March 31, 2008 to give information to foreigners in Korea regarding immigration, visa, sojourn and nationality over the phone, with pressing 1345 all over the country.

Ministry of Justice said the first call center for foreigners in Korea, 1345 Immigration contact center functioned well as a consulting window with 2 million answers just for 1 year. 
Immigration contact center serves counseling over the phone with 17 foreign languages such as English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Mongolian, Myanmarese and Arabic. 

The center managed about 179,000 calls per month on average for the last 1 year(including 75,000 answers with ARS per month) and is contributing to enhancing the accessibility of administrative service to foreigners in Korea with triple interpretation for public organizations.

※ Triple interpretation is available for 9 public organization including government call center(110), fire office(119), Emergency medical center(1339), National Cemetery, Tax office, Daejeon city hall.

Also, the center contributes to social integration with employing marriage immigrants who speaks Korean fluently and supporting settlement in Korea.

※ 6 Marriage immigrants from Pakistan, Nepal, Mongolia, Myanmar, Vietnam(including 4 naturalized citizens) are employed now.

The Ministry of Justice goes ahead with a plan to increase the triple interpretation for public organizations steadily and to run contact center 24 hours for the convenience of overseas foreigners.

ome immigrations documents can be filed on-line at Minwon 24 or E-government for foreigners, at no charge. Note that both of these sites require that you download Active X.  For some, however, you must visit an immigration office in person. As of 2011, local government offices (Eup, Myeon, and Dong) can issue some immigration-related certificates.

Immigration 'helpline': In Korea, you can call 1345 (press 3 and then * for an English counsellor). No need to put in the area code, even from cell phones.

Immigration Field Services for 'remote'areas:
Long-term foreign residents (those who have been in Korea for more than 3 months) can apply for visas, report departures or handle other customs affairs in their areas. As of January 2009, Immigration officials will visit local town halls or other public offices two to three times a week.
