Man lies through second marriage, disguised as a bank worker

The Yangchon police in central Seoul has requested an arrest warrant for a man who deceived his newly-wed into believing that he was working for a bank in his attempt to gaining financially from the marriage.

The 29-year-old unemployed man met up with the 30-year-old nurse in April 2011 and secured, among others, money for a new car and payments for a new apartment totaling 64.5 million won ($58,000).

The man has been found to have been married and had a five-year-old son but left them in the provinces while lying that he had a job in Seoul.

Once in Seoul, he married the nurse and set up new living premises in Yangchon, living under the false identity of a bank employee.

He even went to extent of recruiting 60 people for his wedding and sent elebratory flowers.

The “father” who was present at the wedding was allegedly paid 150,000 won ($130) by a recruiting company.

The case broke open when the man’s wife came looking for him and told the whole story to his “second” wife who proceeded to give birth to an infant one month ahead of the scheduled date.
